BAJA PENINSULA, MEXICO — Baja is considered a mecca of off-road, with thousands of miles of dirt trails where the only rule is to survive. Endless miles of deserted beaches, forests of towering cardon cacti, far-off mountains and the intermittent flash of shocking azure sea makes it one of the best places to spend a week of your life... if you can handle the trail.

Expeditioneers will take the famous Transpeninsular Highway, which is an adventure
by itself, mixed with some of the best of the Baja 1000 course to have a stunning combination of off-road challenge and leisure-adventure. We will be travelling through the unforgiving roads of the Baja 1000, camping on deserted beaches, off-roading in the mornings with refreshments at sunset next to fish-rich waters and gazing at grey whales
as they arrive after 6000 miles of their own expedition from the Bearing Sea.

So, if unclogging your air filter after 40 miles of silt, five-star dinners at Bajas finest, repairing a puncture in the middle of nowhere, swimming in the Sea of Cortez or making sure your Engel stays stocked with precious water doesn’t give you pause, then join Expeditioneers on their1000 Through Baja adventure in January 2009.

PRE-RUN: TRAIL REPORT
While in Ensenada doing some logistics and coordination for the January Expedition, we couldn’t pass up the chance to run a bit of the Baja course itself. To the left you’ll see some of the sites and trials you’ll encounter if you get the chance to join us. Pay special mind to the not-so-obvious obstacles designed to take out the most careful of racers.
